Can someone give me some advise about good diving spots close to Rio de Janeiro? Prices, websites ,experiences, how to get there, all advise is welcome.

Arraial do Cabo ( about 170 km from Rio) is considered a good diving place, my brothers who are divers learned to dive there and dive all over the world; sometimes I go diving with them but I only do snorkel. To get there you take a bus and after 2h30m you'll be there, there are some diving shops you can arrange to go out for diving.

Angra / Ilha grande is another option for diving near by. Personally I never dove there, but the land activities are great.
From Marina la Gloria in the City of Rio there's one operator... (When I lived in Rio I dove from here many times for the convenience, it has been several years and is no longer the same company I dove with) near downtown Rio de Janeiro, in half a day your can dive two tanks and have the rest of the day. http://www.marinadagloria.com.br/html/lojistas.html Diving in Arraial / Buzios is better, but need to plan for a full day or more.
