Puerto Vallarta Cabo vs. Puerto Vallarta
Posted: Mon January 7, 2008 06:26 AM UTC
Dear Puerto Vallarta experts,

I'm desperately looking for a travel destination for a sisterly bonding week. As we are both into the beach and partying I thought either Cabo or PV would be a good choice. We are both about 30 years old and would prefer to stay clear of the gaggles of kids, college students etc. Essentially we would like to find an environment with people at least 25+. Would you happen to know which city may cater towards what we're looking for? There isn't that much information regarding this on the web. Also any information on Nikki Beach would be great. Thanks in advance,

A

Saludos TB. I recommend CABO. More yachts, Golf, and high end dinning. The Nikki beach club at the ME by Melia is great and right on the Medanos beach in Cabo, across from the Land's end Arch. Enjoy.

Cabo is expensive and is great if you can afford to golf.

I would recommend PV if you're on any budget.

PV has two sections; North with all huge resort hotels and south which is "old town" with smaller, more traditional accommodations.

I've seen lots of kids in PV as it is a Mexican family destination. They don't stay out after dark though. That's when the party begins!

Your best bet may be Cabo for the 25+ folks all day.

Cabo has quite a party atmosphere but PV and area has more things to do during the daylight hours. If you want to party, late nights are best and both places can really rock but with more choices in PV. I dunno know, if you factor in all the daylight activities, best beaches, shopping, ease of transportation, yadda yadda, I'd pick PV. One thing is for sure, both are super duper for nocturnal creatures and you will have a blast. Have a great time with your sister.

TB~

Nikki Beach in PV is stupendous. Pricy and gorgeous. If nothing else, treat yourselves to Sunday brunch like you have never had before. Lay on sofas, sip, snack, listen to the waves and people chatting. Aaah, is life better? In PV also there is the malecon which runs along the bay. Tons of hot night music spots are there so that would fill one need. And the shopping will leave you pesos short but smiles wide! Bring lotion and a couple swimsuits. But also get out and hike, head south of Rio Cuale into SouthSide and hang out on Playa Los Muetos for the day and enjoy the quaintness of an older part of town away from the hubbub of tourists. If you head down after Easter, the crowds will dissipate and leave you more room everywhere. Enjoy! a free group for info on yahoo...
