Hi,
Due to my car doing its head gasket I will be on a super budget. Can someone work out an easy way with not much walking to see the city on public bus? Thanks so much! |

If you stay for several days I would sign up for a Metro ticket. You have to charge it with $10 at the start, and then every trip costs you only 1.90 instead of 2.50, and you do not pay more than 3.80 per day.
If you buy a regular bus ticket it costs 2.50 and is valid for two hours, and you can change direction etc. You get the Metro ticket at the Bus Exchange in the city centre. More info on my Chch page (transportation tips) and on: www.metroinfo.org.nz Sissi

hmm...I thought we can use the yellow bus. When I was there in Nov, I just hop on to the yellow bus and it will bring you around Christchurch city and it’s free.

The free yellow bus does only bring you around the very city centre between Moorhouse Avenue, Manchester Street, Town Hall and Colombo Street. If you want to go to the Gondola, or to the malls, or to the beaches in Sumner and New Brighton, you rely on the normal bus system for which you have to pay.
