Sep. 21: Brussels free of cars
Posted: Thu September 18, 2003 09:20 PM UTC
Hello,

Not a question, just a warning!

Brussels will be free of car the day of Sep. 21. From 9am to 7pm, no car and motorized engine is allowed to circulate in Brussels.

Either you would enjoy discovering the city by foot either by bike.
Plus, the "Brussels free of car" day coincides with Journée du Patrimoine. Look at the event calendar Brussels - Sep. 21 to know about activities organized for this day. Possibility of hiring bikes from an association.

Enjoy Brussels!

Dito here in Copenhagen. It's the Car Free Day in Europe.

Former years it used to be on a weekday and we could cycle with the EU Commissioner for the environment and Romano Prodi from our offices in Brussels to Cinquantennaire :-)

For me, the coincidence with Journée du patrimoine makes it more interesting in Brussels.

Charlotta,
Biking with Prodi? Were you working at the EU institutions?

Bendokan,
I was focused on biking but off course, skating and rollerblades are encouraged...
