Idaho Advice on a good resort?
Posted: Fri January 4, 2008 07:45 AM UTC
I am a little out of my element here. Usually I am planning a vacation for my buddies and myself, but this time my family recruited me to plan one for them. They are looking for a nice resort/condo set up, with a mountain/forested setting, and lots of outdoor activities. Preferably with a lake that allows some type of recreation (boating, fishing, etc). We will have a large group... 12-22 people. If anyone could offer any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

In and around Ketchum/Sun Valley might fit the bill. The white-water rafting on the Snake and Salmon rivers is fun & I hear the fly fishing is great.

Take a look at Redfish lake. We drove through there on our way to Ketchum but it seemed to fit your requirements. The nearby town was Stanley.

everyone is right, the sun Valley Ketchum area is probably your best bet. I work for Sun Valley Resort and we have a lot of multi room condo's we can rent and even some full size houses if it's in your budget. www.sunvalley.com You also might consider McCall in central Idaho and Couer d' laine or Sandpoint in northern Idaho. All beautiful areas with with great lake's and that mountain thing.

Thanks for the input! I've been looking at Couer d' laine and Sandpoint already and both seem like really nice areas, but I'll certainly check out Sun Valley. Thanks again for the input. I don't know how people could plan trips correctly without resources like this site.

yea, this site has helped me a lot to. I grew up near Couer d'Laine. I lost track of how many times I boated or stayed with friends at their lake places out on that lake. I also did alittle bit at Sandpoint and also some great camping up on Upper Priest Lake. Definitly worth it.
