| San Diego | Hotels near Petco Posted: Thu January 3, 2008 07:42 PM UTC
Hoping to come over from Scotland in June to see The Mets play The Padres and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for decent, reasonably-priced hotels within easy travel distance of the ballpark ?

The Omni Hotel is just across the street from Petco Park. It even offers a walk-way over the street, into the park. I don't know if the price of a room is within your budget, but it is nearest the Park.
There are several hotels in The Gaslamp Quarter which is near Petco Park and they are reasonabley priced for that area, but higher than you'd pay at other hotels farther from the "hot spots" of town. There is even a Youth Hostel on Fifth Avenue, but, I believe, they have an age limit. Your phrase, "within easy travel distance of the ballpark?" Brings up a few questions, such as how would you be traveling? Any recommedations would depend upon your mode of travel.
