private tour of Terracotta Warriors and Xian sights

what is a reasonable price for a driver to take us on a tour of the terracotta warriors, the History museum and the Wild Goose pagoda?
We have been quoted all sorts of prices from 140y to 900!!

Cost would vary according to what exactly you're getting for the price. Variable aspects include: type of vehicle, actual English level of the guide, number of shopping stops, so on and so forth!
Try contacting John (johnqingg2004@yahoo.com.cn) and see what his quote. I would trust him to give a reasonable quote.

Also, on the TripAdvisor forums a traveller asked why his tour had so many shopping stops. Someone very candidly and bluntly answered, because he paid too little for his tour! Which's very true, unfortunately...

If the price for a driver is lower than 400 yuan, it means that your tour will be filled with souvenir stores. And I'm sure you need a good English speaking tour guide, so the price is much higher than 400 yuan. When will you come to Xi'an? The price is various because of different seasons. I am not a professional guide, but I'd like to offer helpful information about my city.

thank you Ellyse and Jasmine.I was in contact with your friend John ,Ellyse and his quote was actually 300.Does that mean a lot of shopping stops? :-)
I also contacted Jeff who was recommended by some tripadvisor travellers, and he offered us 900 for the car and driver, and an extra 80 for the guide.Sounds rather high considering it did not include the meal or the entrance to the places???

I would trust John's quote. Make sure you tell him that you want absolutely no shopping stops, and that you would prefer to have himself as the guide instead of someone else.

You'd better know what will be included in the cost, tickets, and tell them what you exactly want? Finally, I guess, the price is almost the same, tickets,vehicle, a driver and a guide.

It cost around 500RMB if you are jion the tour group the cost will be drop down .
