| Yosemite National Park | Evergreen Lodge -vs- private cabin in West Yosemite Posted: Wed January 2, 2008 07:33 PM UTC
This will be the first trip to Yosemite for my husband & I and another couple, so we are completely baffled on the best place to stay. (mid March) We have trimmed our choices down to two...the Evergreen Lodge which looks very quaint; I fear the cabins may be a bit on the small side and a private cabin in West Yosemite. None of us have children so the family enviroment is not of great concern. Our main concern is ambiance (& cleanliness). We are very much looking forward to a rustic, lodgey type getaway. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I stayed at the Evergreen Lodge in September 2007 and found it to be clean and very convenient to the park--about 15 minutes from the gate on 120. The food in the restaurant was quite good, better than I've had at the Ahwahnee. I had the smallest of the cabins (single occupant) and it might be too small for more than one person. Also, no tv and no phone (and no cell phone service).
