| Palma de Mallorca | 48 Hours in Palma Posted: Wed January 2, 2008 06:11 PM UTC
Hi,
Myself and my partner are staying for 2 nights in Palma at the beginning of February 2008. Does anybody have any advice on what to do and where to go to get the best out of such a short stay? Thanks |

Le Seu Cathedral. The Hop On Hop Off bus is good. I can't remember much more off the top of my head - did I put much on my Palma page? Can't remember that either - was there January 2007 for a weekend for my 40th. The replica old Palma place. Sorry! Brain isn't working at the moment.
There will be plenty of tips on this website though.

The Cathedrale is a must and the old town in the area behind the cathedrale is great for wondering and you'll find the old Arab baths here. The palace opposite the Cathedrale. (If I'm not mistaken it's free on Wednesdays if you take your passport along). The area of La llonja is good for eating tapas in the evening with a few good bars and great atmosphere. For views of the city Belvere Castle. Weekend nightlife is along the "paseo maritimo" / sea front. Santa Catalina area also good for eating out with small restaurants of all sorts from very economic to more pricey.
I think that the tourist bus is quite expensive and to be honest you can walk to most places in Palma and if you get a map and stick to the old town as much as possible it's really pleasant to have a wonder around.

Hi and welcome to VT. There is lots to do in and around the old city and most of it can be done on foot. For a day out there is a tourist train that goes up to Soller on the north of the island. I didn't get a chance to do the trip myself but I believe that the views are great. See my Palma page for a few more tips. Have a great time.
