Hi!
The German YouthHostel website lists only one hostel in Mainz. I wasn't there myself but the info from this page: http://www.jugendherberge.de/html/jugendherbergen/ says: 16,60 - 21,80 EUR for bed and breakfast (rooms with 1, 2 and 4 beds, shower/toilet and incl. sheets) It's southeast of the centre, right at a large park (Volkspark) 10 minutes by bus from the main station.
