| Ko Samui | hotels in Chaweng beach Posted: Sun December 30, 2007 05:41 AM UTC
Hello all,
I will be travelling to Koh Samui on the first week of February. I did some research on the hotels there. I'm looking for a relativly good hotel that is not very expensive. It seems like it is a busy season and most hotels/resorts I contact are fully booked. Initially I wanted to rent out a bungalow, but no availability. I narrowed it down to 2 hotels: Montien House and Seascape beach resort. Does anyone know anything about those hotels? are they good enough to spend a week in? Also, is there really much of a difference between living in a bungalow or a a regular room? Anyone's help is greatly appreciated. |

Thanks guys for the tips.
Regarding the Chaweng beach resort, I read about the place. Loved the photos, rates and the place in general. One thing that held me back from booking is the location. Is it true that it is far from all the "action"?? How far do you have to walk or ride a taxi to reach the busy areas on Chaweng beach? Thanks again guys for the help.

I had some customers who gave good reviews of Montien House. As for Seascape, it is also very nice. However, Seascape is located at the far southern end of Chaweng and this is quite far from the main night life of Chaweng. So, if you are looking at within reasonable walking distance to party areas, Seascape might not be a good choice.
Montien, however, is within 2 minutes walk and that would be better. You can also try Malibu Resort or Al's Resort. These are within 5 min walk and gives you the quietness that you might want on some nights. You can go to this site for your checking out the hotel rates: http://www.thailandbooking.org/kohsamui/?on=961499 If you need more information, please write to me at judy@vikingbar.net
