Hi guys though i stay in delhi i have not visited himachal at all I have around 9-10 days please suggest the route i can take i would like to visit shimla ,manali,kullu i guess lahul spiti or chandratal will not be possible around this time ...i would like to know the weather and possibility to travel around i'll be with friends and family my mother 55 yrs old will be with me
I have no clue how to start so pls chk below and let me know what else i need to incluse and what to drop......... 10 start frm delhi by train reach kalka 11 th morning are shared jeeps avail or buses their frequency and if possible cost... 11th-there is sightseeing offered by hptdc Shimla - Kufri - Fagu - Chini Bunglow -Naldehra - Shimla (Tour No. 1) starts at 11 am (nothing written about end of tour same day or next) cost is 190 /seat http://hptdc.nic.in/trans.htm 12 th local sight seeing around shimla 12th night to Kullu night bus (dont know the frequency where can i check ?) 13th march-Full day Kullu 14 Th Kullu-(what do you all suggest) 14th night to manali 15 th manali -sight seeing [Manali - Naggar - Solang - Manali (Tour No. 2 )] again starts 10 am 190 /seat or rest that day just stroll around and take the day trip the next day 16 th-manali 17 th -solang (i got to know about sking) 18th-is chandratal possible 19 th -take a bus back to delhi... please help me with better suggestion to cover up loopholes as well would like to know about the budget accom ,guest house or homestays are always welcome wher we get to eat home food... |

I was in India earlier this year and did some of what you suggest independently – Your programme sounds a bit ambitious so this is what I did and also what you might consider. 1) Train from Delhi to Kalka 2) Overnight at Kalka 3) Take the “Special” Train to Shimla and have 2 days sightseeing there – Either independently or book a tour at the tourist office on The Ridge 4) Bus to McLeod Ganj and have 2 days sightseeing there Either independently or book a tour at “Ibex Adventure Travels” 5) Taxi to Kangra 6) Narrow gauge train trip to Pathancot 7) Train back to Delhi Details of the above are on my India page – Pleas refer to the tips sections You might find them interesting !!
