| Corpus Christi | Swimming in January Posted: Fri December 28, 2007 03:52 PM UTC
Happy New Year(in advance)!
I will be in Corpus Christi at the end of January 2008; I'd like to go swimming in the ocean. Is this possible or will it be too cold? Thank You. |

It'll be warmer than the oceans (the Gulf of Mexico not an ocean by any means). It really depends on the weather around that time, I think. Since the Gulf is small, it's more affected by temporary weather changes, and that region has wild winters: you could have cloudy and 40's one day, sunny and 70's the next.
For the beach, you can hit Port Aransas/Mustang Island or North Padre. Both are nice and will be relatively deserted in January.
