| Sofia | trains or busses from sofia to thessaloniki Posted: Thu December 27, 2007 12:07 PM UTC
Hello, can anyone help me. I need to know times and fares for train or bus from Sofia to Thessaloniki in Greece, for 10th and or 11th January. I have tried websites, but there is nothing to say if prices and timetables are up to date. I would be very grateful for help. Blagodarya!.

Thankyou Trevor, for info on hostel and train website. I'm travelling from London to Sofia by coach, and from there to my daughter in Thessaloniki, so any info is very gratefully recieved.I would still like to know about the busses though, that seems to be the hardest info to get hold of.Thanks again. well unless you have your heart set on going overland, I would fly from London to Sofia. www.wizzair.com has flights from london......and if you book a month or so in advance you can get the ticket for less than 50euro. Their are direct buses from London......but it sounds painful......there are a few websites that may be able to help you....i do not have the info with me because i am on the road right now.....heading overland to China.....so far i have made it to Georgia. anyways.......google Eurplines and the cities....and see what you can find.

Thanks Trevor,
I am already booked on a coach from London, the company name in Balkan Horn, seems ok, but we shall see. I am leaving on Monday 7th jan. I actually don't fly at all, and seeing my various offspring one in France and one in Greece (thankfully one still here in Wales, but for how long who knows, they seem to have inherited a travel bug from me!!)I have to find all sorts of weird and wonderful ways to travel, it does make it interesting though. I've decided i'll take a train to Thess from Sofia, although the times are awkward, i think it is a nicer way to travel, and i will probably have had enough of busses by then. Have a good time in China, and a Happy New Year!!. Serena.
