Parque Nacional del Iguazł FROM BRAZIL AIRPORT TO ARGENTINA
Posted: Wed December 26, 2007 11:38 AM UTC
We will be flying into the Brazil side's airport but staying in the park on the Argentinian side. Does anyone know the best way to get there?

Should we take a cab? How long would it take if we were to do that? Will the cab driver be able to get into the Argentinian side? Do they typically carry passports/visas themselves?

Are there busese that go from the Brazilian airport to the Argentinian side? If so, how much would it be and how much longer will it take? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Your best bet would be to arrange with the hotel(if you are staying in the park then that would be the Sheraton) to pick you up at Foz de Iguazu airport.Argentina residents can cross the boder into Brazil without a visa.

There are no busses from Foz de Iguazu that would take you to the Argentina side of the falls.

Taxi fares in Brazil are more expensive than the fares in Argentina ,so that might cost you more.

For a pick -up by your hotel at Foz it should not be more than $US 30.

Formalities at the border post` will not take more than 15 min.

Thank you so much for your help Heinrich. I will contact the hotel and see if they offer airport transfers. If not, should I just get a [Brazilian] cab to the border in the park, cross it and take another cab [on the Argentinian side]?

Actually there are buses but you would need to take one bus from the airport into town, transfer to another bus to take you into Argentina and then transfer to another to get you to the Argentine park. Might take you a few hours :)) The easiest method is just to grab a Brazilian taxi and take that all the way to your hotel. You might want to negotiate the fare first to avoid any surprises.

Agree with SAM: your best bet is a taxi from the airport to your hotel in Argentina.

I would also take a taxi, but be sure you agree on a price in advance. Prices for taxis are very cheap. We took a taxi from our hotel on the Argentina side, across the border to Brazil, then across the border to Paraguay, had him wait 4 hours while we played golf in Paraguay and then returned to Argentina. All this only cost us around $50,-
