| San Diego | Looking for Local Fun in San Diego Posted: Tue December 25, 2007 10:57 PM UTC
Happy Holidays all! I'm visiting my parents for the holidays in Vista, near San Diego, coming from Toronto, Canada.
I'd like to get some recommendations for fun spots or activities in (and around) San Diego. I've been to most of the tourist spots such as Balboa, La Jolla, Sea World, and the Wild Animal Park. I'm looking for more of a local flavour... some fun for someone my age (23) and perhaps a chance to meet a few friends. I'm interested in anything from cool restaurants/bars/hangouts, to live music venues, to salsa clubs. Appreciate any recommendations! |

Have you looked into the historic Gaslight District in S.D.?

Thanks for the recommendation. From the information online, the Gaslamp district sounds like a great neighbourhood.
Any particular spots to recommend within the district? Thanks!

Yes, Gaslamp is your best bet; maybe Pacific Beach is second.

Carlsbad is another nice city near vista. Jimmy Loves is a nice dance spot. Also, Croces has great jazz music
