| Moscow | Moscow SVO1 and SVO2 questions. Posted: Tue December 25, 2007 06:49 PM UTC
Hi to everyone!
I will be arriving in Moscow SVO2 from france... I need to get to SVO1 to catch a plane flight to Perm. I speak and read a little Russian... but I am much better with English. 1. How difficult is it to find my way around the SVO airport terminals..? English vs. Russian signs. 2. How do I arrange transport between the 2 airports? Do they offer a shuttle service/bus? 3. In reference to question #3....Where in the aiport is this transport service desk located? 3. If I am traveling directly from SVO2 to SVO1 do I need to pass through customs in SVO2 and SVO1? 4. Can I purchase phone cards in the airport...or do they have internet cafe's in either airport? Thank you so much for your help. |

Info from: http://www.waytorussia.net/Moscow/ArrivalDeparture.html
Sheremetyevo 1 airport Phone: +7 (495) 232-6565, Website: ( http://www.sheremetyevo-airport.ru ) Located 5 kilometers from Sheremtyevo 2, this airport serves domestic Aeroflot flights and some charter flights. It’s not comfortable at all, so if you have some time before your flight, it’s better to spend it in Sheremetyevo 2. There is a shuttle service connecting both Sheremetyevo airports, departing every hour from Arrivals exit of Sheremetyevo 2 airport (ground floor, left wing facing the airport). Also, some minibuses stopping at the bus stop outside of the airport also go to Sheremetyevo 1, but be careful and ask the driver before boarding. You can also take a taxi, but usually it’s quite expensive ($10-$30), even though the way takes not more than 15 minutes.

There is a transfer desk at the arrivals hall (in its middle part - between 2 exit zones) - they do understand some English. You need to pick up your luggage at the international terminal and go through the customs (take green corridor - nothing to declare) and passport control - and then to go to the domestic terminal.

Yes, you'll definitely need to pass SVO2 customs and after you arrive at SVO1 you will need go through the customs again. 4. Can I purchase phone cards in the airport...or do they have internet cafe's in either airport? They definitely have internet cafe in SVO2, not sure about SVO1 (most probably not).
