I am looking for a reliable company renting out a vehicle to go overland to Lhasa (with driver of course). Any idea?
Thanks! |

Take the train, but beware of the hight altitude disease.

Duh. There's no train from Zhongdian to Lhasa unless you want to detour all the way to Chengdu!

Thanks young lady, I also know of course the map of China, the advise of the gentleman is nonsense.
I think to arrange the Overland tour to Lhasa via Khampa Caravan in Zhongdian should be best (by the way, I am travelling on my own, resp. as a single passenger). Regards Walter Spoerle

I tried to go overland to Lasha in May 2007 until a rockslide closed the road. It was closed for several weeks. We have the option going to where the rockslide was and then walking across. Then find transportation on the other side to Lasha. We chose to go back and fly in.
The TTB office Zhongdian can arrange driver, vehicle, and permits.

It just goes to say that some people (ie the 1st person) reply to questions without even using their brain to comprehend properly what's asked, perhaps.
