I went to vanuatu with a friend of mine when we were only 17. We organised a cruise and stayed overnight there a few days. We had absolutely no problem with safety whatsoever.

All you need to do is just general precautions like you would at home like not leaving your things unattended etc. Just general common sense really.

Vanuatu is a lovely place, I hope you have fun!

As someone said, normal precautions should be taken but generally very safe.

Apparently Tanna is the best place for volcano viewing but can be expensive to get to. Check for flights before you leave your home country as may be cheaper to book before you get to Port Vila. However plenty of places on waterfront (just near Numbawan Supermarket, next to Markets) that will sell you tickets/tour

Oh my God, I can say that you can be safety more than ever in Oceania! Vanuatu people are poor people but they don't try to steel you, they don't attack you, they are very friendly. I lived there 3 weeks and I had no incident even I was walking in the downtown during the evening.
You are safety in Vanuatu anytime!
