Will be flying in to KK on 29 December and arriving late morning and we want to proceed straight up to Mount Kinabalu where we have already booked our hotel. I notice that the public vans normally leave early in the morning. Is there any that leave after lunch? If not,how much would it cost to take a taxi up?

Express buses leave at 2 pm from Inanam terminal. For long distance taxi, it's RM80 per trip.

Thanks for your reply. Am back from my trip. Read it too late - we reached the Inanam terminal after the 2 pm bus and in spite of bargaining taxi charged us RM130. Anyway we had a lovely trip up the mountains so it was worth it.

Glad to know you enjoyed Sabah. Next time if you want to get a taxi, take it from KK city.....not at Inanam. But make sure it has got a yellow roof top. Those taxis are for long distance so it's cheaper. Taxis & minivans leave from KK, only express buses leave from Inanam. We've got many terminals for buses serving different locations.
