Last minute planning and contemplating taking a short trip to Fukuoka for New Years. Putting the tourist spots to the side as well as the red lights of Nakasu, would anyone recommend spending NY eve in Fukuoka?

I don’t know what you like and when you will come and back, but I will make some recommendations; NY Count down event held on Dec 31 at Space World http://www.spaceworld.co.jp/ in Kitakyushu-city near Fukuoka. And then travel around Fukuoka-city such as Tenjin, Canal-city Hakata and Nakasu as well. If you want see Japanese festival, Tamaseseri http://www.kyushu-tourist.com/tamaseseri.html is held at Hakozaki Shrine on Jan. 03.
