Does anyone know if it's ok to ride bicycles in Puerto Vallarta. We purchased folding bikes to take with us to PV but I want to make sure they are ok to ride in PV and may be even better then a cab or to get around to local places. We are staying near Concha Chinas.

I don't think youll have any trouble to ride the bikes in PV, in the downtown area there are some hills, but if you stay near the beach you wont have any trouble. Perhaps if you wanna have dinner in one of the nice restaurants up of the hill, you could take a taxi then.

It will be very warm to bicycle, roads are often cobblestone and bumpy, the traffic can be hazardous for tourists, it is fairly hilly where you will be staying, what are you going to do with your bicycle when you want to enter a shop? and buses/taxis are plentiful and cheap. Your on holidays and in my humble opinion, a folding bicycle is the last thing I would take to Vallarta.

There is no law against them and I see one from time to time but with you staying in CC, be aware that your only route north into town is along highway 200 with fast cars on curves. Not a spot to pedal along let alone walk! Something to think about. It could be dangerous and at night, deadly I imagine but do not know. I walk but I am a hiker!
