Hello, I am traveling to Italy (arrving Jan 19 @11am) and am trying to figure out the easiest way to get from Milan to Lucca without a whole lot of headache. Does anyone know whether there is a bus service either from the airport direct to Lucca station or from Milan Centrale station to Lucca? It would be great to avoid going an hour or so beyond to Florence than having to come back.
It is possible to rent a car however the rental agencies in Lucca are closed at noon on Saturday which will require rental return on Monday and I will not arrive in time. Any advice would be great. Thank you for your help. cmt |

There are shuttle buses from Malpensa to the Stazione Central in Milano. The Trenitalia route that is probably the fastest is from Stazione Centrale to Prato, then change trains to Lucca.
