Hi. I am heading to Mexico city with my boyfriend soon, and I was looking for suggestions on the proper clothes to pack. I imagine we will be wandering around the city by day and going out a lot to resteraunts and bars. We may even do some dancing. We may have received an invitation to someone's house for new year's eve, but I want to be prepared for anything (including a celebration in a bar/club). Please advise how casual/dressy/conservative the dress code is for bars/clubs in Df. Thank you.

You can go casual and a bit more dressy(conservative) for the special dinner.. I suggest Winter Clothing...

I'm coming to Mexico a few weeks later. Where I live, "Winter Clothing" means long pants, a shirt AND a sweater, a wool coat or a feather-filled coat, wool gloves, a scarf and insulated boots. Is it seriously cold enough to warrant that sort of attire? The forecast says it's about 23 degrees celcius currently, which is about forty degrees warmer than here! Is there some mysterious coldness that the weather reports don't mention?

Mexico City can get quite chilly so make sure you do bring a jacket and some sweaters for the evenings.
