I am planning to be in Pittsburgh this weekend and I found online that the city's youth hostel was unfortunately closed... Is there any other budget accomodation ( under $50 per night) in/ close to the city center? Thanks so much!

I only know of accomodation under that price near the airport. There is a new motel 6 that is under $40. plus tax. But if you try priceline.com there may be a chance of getting a room for under $60. downtown. We have done it in the past but if there is an event of some sort it may not be likely. You loose nothing by trying. Have you looked through other Pittsburgh pages on VT?
