| Bahrain | BAHRAIN FRIENDLY OR NOT???? Posted: Tue December 18, 2007 10:10 PM UTC
Dear VT Members,
I have been speaking with people from VT and also other place about Idea picture of Bahrain. I was told Bahrain man and woman in general doesn’t speak with other members of western & Indians community. I was also told Bahrain people mind there own business) just speak with there own kind. Is that health for a society? Where does western and English speaking people go in the weekends I think me coming from London background I will understand English speaking people. When I visited Bahrain I would be pleased to meet English speaking people due to fact I don’t speak Arabic. VT Members thanks for all your help. Jay |

Dear Friend,
Your information is absolutely untrue. Bahraini people are educated and advance and they integrate very well with all nationalities of expat living here in Bahrain. You dont really need to have a london background to speak english in bahrain. Majority of people understand / speak english quite well in Bahrain.

Dear VT Members,
I have carefully read all your comments I am very grateful for all of you respond back to my correspondence. explore discover stated that my information was wrong, I got most of my information from the Ban Human Rights group called The Bahrain Centre for Human Rights (BCHR which the Bahrain Government ban them in 2004. My question was Bahrain Friendly or Not) from speaking with German woman who lived in Bahrain that was her own experiences not mines. stated that Bahrain are not friendly. I personally been to North America Middle East Africa Asia I;E Japan I have travelled around the world. with a VT Members question Have I been to Bahrain and the answer is NO NO NO!) but that is my next plan to visit Bahrain that is why I was seeking Information. I will pose another question to VT Members, titled Bahrain Racist State or Not!!! Yours sincerely Jay

Dear Member
It is not true. I find Bahraini people quite friendly and get along well with all nationalities. That is the reason that so many nationalities people live here. I am here since past 2 years and have experienced no such problem. As regards language, English is widely spoken, and understood in Bahrain. It is a very open country and one of the best among Gulf countries. You will enjoy ur stay here.

Just a question - when you are researching a country that you may visit WHO in their right mind goes to a human rights site to research. I'm more an expedia man myself..haha.
I think if thats your attitude before comming to Bahrain its probably best you stay away. Bahrainis are like people of all countries there is good, bad & indifferent, but having lived here for over 10 years as a europen expat the scales of friendliness of Bahrainis tip most certainly in their favor (excluding the taxi drivers of course). Best if you fly straight over Bahrain & go to Burma (myanmar) instead - I'm sure your comments will be more apprecited there.

Thanks for you reply, Indeed I disagree with point of view. Indeed read about human rights issues it;s great deal with me, I think as your EU person it seem you don't care about this issues on Human Rights, what a shame.
You stated that you lived in Bahrain 10+ - you would have a better idea but speaking with German woman who was in Bahrain give a different picture. You have no right to tell me if I can visit Bahrain or not, that up to me don't you ever forget that::: Last point I liked you comments on Bahrain Taxis speaking with many VT members they all agree.
