I'm looking at renting an apartment in Addis abeba .
Can someone advise me of the approximate cost for such an idea for one week

I will be stay one week I want be alitel bit cheap price

well it depends on what kind of appartment you are looking for.The price may range from 100 Dollars for the entire week up to 300 Dollars.but if you are staying for only a week i suggest you stay at a hotel which is much cheap than you think it is. perhaps search for hotel price in Ethiopia it is amaizingly cheap something like 20 Dollars.

I agree. To rent an apartment you have to go and view with an 'agent'. Then you have to pay him. Then you have to figure out transport here and there. You will waste a week doing just that. Many landlords will not rent for just a week. Those that do will charge you a lot.

Have a great time. If you are still wanting to do this I can arrange a friend to do this locally for a fee.

I am coming to Addis by the end of this month to stay for a couple of months. how much would a studio or a one bedroom apartment in a clean and safe place cost me? I am really on a small budget. Thanks a lot for your help (raouljonu@yahoo.com)

If you look on my 'Things to do' on my Addis Ababa Page you will see the details for my friend Solomon. EMail Solomon and he will get you an agent to look for properties - now. You will need to pay him and/or the agent a fee. My fee was $20 and the guy looked at properties all over the city and showed my 6 in 4 days, so not too expensive. They charge a percentage of your first month's rent.
