Hi I wonder how long the distance is between the international airport in to the city by taxi...is it safe? Whats the price rate from the airport to the city. regards/Micke

Can't remember how much the taxi is, but it is not too much. It is absolutely safe, but be sure to take an official taxi !!
There are also minibuses to/from the airport (travelling alone a little bit cheaper than a taxi). See for instance: www.transvip.cl or www.turtransfer.cl

from the airport to santiago downtown is about 20 minutes by taxi, but you can take a shuttle bus for 6to 7 people that takes you to the place you'r going and it's much cheaper.

When you are the international zone of the airport, you're welcomed by a zillion taxidrivers offering their services.
Ignore them and go to the tour operator desks across the hall - they are official and their prices are OK. We took the above mentioned option of sharing a minivan with some other people and that was very much OK ! Enjoy !
