Am planning to spend 2 weeks in Cornwall, probably based in the Truro area, in mid April. What weather can I expect and is this a reasonably quiet time for visiting? I come from a warm climate so am hoping it won't be too cold!

It'll be quiet, yes, especially as Easter (school hols) is so early next year (late March). It should be a lovely time to visit, as Spring should be beginning .......hopefully.

The Cornish climate is fairly mild, as it has sea on 3 sides. But if you are used to warmer temperatures then you may find it chilly; bring clothes you can layer, and waterproof outer wear/umbrella. It's unlikely you'll be comfortable outside without a jacket/coat, although you may be lucky. We can have really warm days in April (this year we had our summer then :-( ), but it could also snow; UK weather is unpredictable!

Easter is very early next year so there will not be too many people about in April.


As for the weather you could have an early summer or late snow fall! The poets and song writers are probably closest though with reasonably mild temperatures.

Cornwall is well prepared for the wet weather - they have lots of experience!

If it does rain then the Eden Project is a good day out and mostly inside.
