We are loooking for 2 rooms available on the 29 of december at the Istana griya in solo and for a transport from solo airport to solo and then from solo to Yogyakarta to end in Bali around the 5 january

so why not contact the hotel and make a reservation????? They should also be able to help with transport and your trip to Bali.

They do have a range of rooms from very very basic to quite OK.
A traveller to Solo ( mentioned below) had one for 75,000 rupiah with TV & Air Con.
One of the travellers who posted on Lonely Planet Thorn tree and whom I helped a few months ago with his trip through Java found this hotel in Solo and said it was much better than the Istana Griya.
However, there is a nice cafe across from Istana Griya that serves very nice food.
I stayed in Solo in July 2006 because I was going to a wedding but had private accomodation so did not stat at any of the hotels.
Sorry cannot help you with transport from the airport, but figure there would ahve to be bus for sure or at worst a taxi.
However, to get from Solo to Yogjakarta is really easy, get the train it is a one hour trip and costs about 7,500 rupiah- really cheap.
Just don't get the last train on Sunday afternoon as it is standing room only- not the best way to travel.
If you can try to sit in the carriage right next to the driver's compartment and he might invite you in, like he did when I went from Yogja to Solo one morning at 7.30.
I had a great time in the driver's compartment, felt like I was driving the train and it was interesting to see all the animals and people who want to cross in front of the train and he has to blow his horn incessantly to keep them all off the railway track.

Oh, and to get from Yogjakarta to Bali I suggest you fly, so much quicker about 1 hr if that compared to about a 17 hr bus trip, not very comfortable.
Or I think you can get a train to near Gilimanuk and then a bus to Bali.
But so much hassle waiting around for buses etc - best to get the plane.
