I have one night to spend in SP and would appreciate any information as to the current fun places to go. I can speak passable portuguese and get around. Where to go on a Saturday night in SP. I know there are many, but the bigger the better. Thank you

If you like pubs to drink beer, go to Vila Madalena. There are many places to this, but if you like eletronic night clubs, go to Vila Olimpia's district.

If you’re looking for good place, beautiful people and some tasty Brazilian drinks, it doesn’t get better than “Cachaçaria Paulista”. This place is located at Pinheiros, a neighborhood that has a lot of pubs and restaurants. It is pleasant place to go on a Saturday night and it is a famous place in São Paulo. I urge you to have a “Espírito de Minas”. This is a typical drink made with ‘cachaça’. But if you aren’t used to drinking alcohol be wary of ‘cachaça’ because if you drink a lot you’ll probably get wasted. Similarly, Bar do Juarez is another option. Located in Moema, in the south of the city, this place has excellent drinks and they make a delicious barbecue. Bear in mind that these places are very crowded on Saturday night and you have to go early.

Hello =]

somewhere cool to visit..
expend one night..

I think..if you want to do something calm..relaxing..
eating in somewhere that has beautiful and interesting people..
you can go to little streets near to Avenida Faria Lima!
These restaurants are expensive but it's essencial to try!

If you want something more exciting..
you can go to a night club..
for me, the places that play very well here in São Paulo..
is the GLS ones! (even if your are not gay..it's ok there..i'm not!)

If you want something not so calm like restaurants..
and not so exciting like night clubs..
you can try a lot of barzinhos in Vila Madalena..
all them are good!!

Good luck!

and take care..
São Paulo is not so dangerous like many people say..
but..bear in mind that everywhere you can find..
crazy thing/people..!

What a pity, you have only one night to spend in São Paulo! The night life here is really hectic. You can enjoy yourself as much as you can. But let’s try to take advantage from the best of the city. I would recommend you to visit any theater because the culture life is pretty organized. During all the year, there are good plays being presented mainly in downtown area. Even if the prices are higher, it is worth a visit. After that, you might go to have diner in any restaurant nearby. If you do not mind to walk a little more, you could go to Bexiga or Brás. In both places, you get the most delicious Italian food and also have the best kind of wines. Both Bexiga and Brás are known for the variety of Italian food but Bexiga is more traditional one. On the one hand, you could eat very well. On the other hand, you would meet a familiar atmosphere. Just bear in mind: If you are going to drive, do not drink. Refrain from got drunk because you can stay in danger. Imagine: you are in the unknown place, alone, during the night…..I´d like to make one more suggestion: How about to having a private car with a guide? Do not bring any amount of money with you, I think you’d better use the credit card instead. Taking some precaution and you are going to have a good moments in São Paulo. Go for it !
