Arctic What Jacket Should We Buy?

What jacket do you recommend for warmth, wind protection and waterproof? Is there any style or manufacturer that is best for outdoor evening photography? We won' be doing any hiking. Just standing in the cold!

If you want to buy something online, both Land's End and L.L.Bean make great winter parkas. If you live near an REI (I think that's the name) store, they are also very good for outdoor gear. I see you're in the States, so those I mentioned should be handy. I remember a friend once getting a North Face parka - that's a good brand.

I'm not sure what yo mean my "Artic". If you mean Alaska or Canada near the Artic Circle and inland, winter temps are brutal. I live in Minnesota and the weather here in winter is brutal at times, but it's even worse the further north you go.

When I do spend extended periods of times outside, I dress in layers. Thermal underwear under my clothes, a jacket with fleece inner layer with a wind/waterproof outer shell. I also wear the same for my pants as well. Columbia, North Face, Marmot and Mountain Hardwear are the best outer wear brands and the most expensive.

REI, is a great store as suggested for this type of clothing. There website is:
