How long does it take from Luxor to Valley of the Kings. Waht time does it open and closes.

hi ,if i remember rightly the minibus took about 15 to 20 mins to go over to the westbank. the tombs open really early and close just before sunset. be sure to take water with you. enjoy your trip.laney

One way to get there is to take a taxi and cross the bridge. It is a nice journey and must be about 30 minutes +.
The other way is to cross on the ferry at Luxor Temple to the West Bank and hire a taxi from there. I think that will be quicker and should certainly be cheaper. We got to the Kings Valley about 10.30 and it was crammed with people so after only one tomb we found a nice spot and waited about 40 minutes had some conversations went to the toilets and when we figured a lot of coaches had gone we had another go and it was better. Somewhere on this forum I can now remember someone saying that they went late afternoon and found only a few people there. They close at 17.00.
