Hi! I'd like to travel to Nepal soon. I'd like to go to Lukla. Is it possible to travel to Lukla by bus rather by flight? How's the weather like in spring? Is it very cold since Nepal is surrounded by mountains with high altitute?
Thanks!

As above – No Bus beyond Jiri, then a 5 to 7 day walk depending on your fitness to Lukla
I walked in from Jiri and would recommend this as a great way to do the EBC trek as long as you have the time, You cross 3 major ridges, the middle one being Lamjura which is around 12.000 feet so you also acclimatise en-route.
My trek took 28 days, Jiri, EBC, Gokyo and then a flight out of Lukla.
Spring is a great trekking season, the flowers are all coming out, the weather tends to be good although often clouds up in the afternoon and occasionally a bit of rain in the evening but quite warm, although once you are over 10.000 feet you Will feel a chill in the air so take a good sleeping bag and warm clothes
Happy Trekking
Rob

Travelling to Lukla by bus would be a great experience. There are public bus service every day from kathmandu to Jiri, which takes about 9/10 hours to get there. Or if you want to go by private transport like car or Jeep, will takes 7 hours only.
From Jiri will takes 7 days treks to reach Lukla, Which is very nice part of Solukhumbu region. The main highlights of this trek is Sherpa culture, great landscepe, green forest,Rhododendron flower, flora and founa etc. The weather will be very pleasant during the spring.

Thanks, Have a nice day !
