Brisbane Wedding in Brisbane - Ceremony and Reception Venues?
Posted: Thu December 13, 2007 02:00 AM UTC
Hi!

My friend in Brisbane is getting married in September and is starting the big search for the perfect venue for the ceremony and reception (can be 2 different places). They are inviting about 100 people and want a sit down dinner for the reception, with space for a small band and dance floor. They want the ceremony to be in a church/chapel and they want to bring their own pastor.

Any personal suggestions for a beautiful venue for their special day? Their food budget would be approx $70-90 per head for the reception.

Cheers,
Daniele :)

A beautiful area near Brisbane is Mt Tamborine. It is in the hinterland behind the Gold Coast. Plenty of accommodation and many places for a weddding. I have stayed at Cedar Creek Lodge as a weekend getaway and thought it beautiful, serene and food was great. Saw a wedding in progress there and it looked great. Plenty of chapels at Tamborine Mtns.
Try www.cedarcreeklodges.com.au or another site is www.totaltravel.com.au and click on Brisbane for a general look around.
For a country/bush wedding try Adora Downs, Mt Tyson which is about 2 hours from Brissie but economical and very Australian.

You could look at Redcliffe. An awesome venue for a reception ids the upstairs room at the belvedere hotel ( www.belvederehotel.com.au ), over looking the water front, it's quite nice and there's a awesome church just back from the round about at the end of Anzac ave. the meal packages at the bell are quite nice too. check them out!

WE were originally booked into these venues for our wedding but we had to cancel cos Lana got pregnant. (we eloped instead lol)
