| Krabi | Where to go? Posted: Mon December 10, 2007 11:55 AM UTC
I'm planning the second leg of my honeymoon in Krabi and possibly ko lanta. Seen as you all helped me so much with the Malaysian part, I wondered if anyone could tell me of a nice bungalow resort that is mid range but in a really beautiful setting. We want to get a romantic retreat without breaking the bank.
I've never been to that side of the island before, always the other side, Koh samui and Koh pha gnan. Any recommendations would be great. I'm leaving on Wednesday so any help, much appreciated. xsx |

Hi -
there's a slightly out-of-the-way "eco-resort" in Krabi province that I stayed at several years ago, but it looks like it's still going. It's called "Dawn of Happiness" and there is a small write-up of it here: http://www.travelfish.org/accommodation_profile/th Cheers, Jeremy

On Koh Lanta the Waterfall Bay Resort is a wonderful spot for a honeymoon. It's very peaceful and quiet there. But the most romantic beachfront hotel I visited was actually next door to Koh Lanta on Koh Ngai (Hai). The Fantasy Resort was incredibly beautiful. The sand was sugary white, the water was crystal-clear and the offshore views of the limestone karsts was spectacular. You can get there from Koh Lanta by hiring a local boat to take you, or if you're coming from Malaysia you can get there from the Pak Meng Pier near Trang in So. Thailand.

There is the Andaman Holiday Resort, which seems rather lovely. I haven't stayed there, but the owner, Khun Pramot and his wife are avid fundraisers for various needs in Krabi, particularly for the tsunami. They are devoted and lovely people who have helped many.
Here is their website; http://www.andamanholiday.com/ Best of luck on your honeymoon!
