Montreal Accomodation

Any suggestions on accommodation in Montreal. I'd like to be near shopping, attractions and a short walk to the Old city. Four star or lower.

Thanks very much.

We stayed 3 nights at a bed and breakfast Inn called Auberge de la Fontaine

http://www.aubergedelafontaine.com/site/montrealhotel/index.cfm

It overlooked a very nice Park, also called Fontaine, in a quiet location but
an easy walk into the city.We hope to stay there again next year.

Hello KTFM

Living in Montreal all my life, your question does not include your price range. Are you looking for a place that's clean, secure, great location, etc. or are you looking for a place that's just good enough to have a roof over your head since you're only going to use it for sleeping...and that's it? Also, it will make a difference if your coming in Spring, Summer or fall. (the walking factor)

Even though these sights atrat off in French, you can switch them to English, easily. The following are a bit pricy but worth checking out. Hope this helps...

www.europahotelmtl.com - (514) 866-6492
www.novotel.com - (514) 861-6000
www.deltamontreal.com - (514) 286-1986
www.novotel.com - (514) 861-6000
www.starwoodhotels.com - (514) 878-2000

These are just some and most of them are in walking distance to the old port. What I mean by that is that the average time to walk to the Old part of Montreak, The Old Port, on a nice warm day is approx. 30 minutes. Better yet, to explore the city even more, very close to these hotels are metro's, (our subway system). They go right to certain spots in Old Montreal.

If you need more info, just let me know.
Mike
