| Georgia | Atlanta shopping Posted: Sun December 9, 2007 03:20 PM UTC
I'm looking for a large shopping mall in Atlanta that can be got to from the international airport. Something that will have the usual Gap,Banana Republic etc stores. I'll have about 7-8hrs stop over and I've been given a shopping list. Is tehr any mall close to the airport and if not what would be the easiest to get to from the airport and about how much would it cost by taxi from the airport.
Thanks for any help. D |

That is a link to the MARTA map...Alanta's metro rail system. You can catch a train right at the airport and there is a mall either at or very near most of the stops n the north south line. I would suggest you go all the way up to Peachtree Center (just past 5 points) for just about everything you are looking for. The trip should take about 30 minutes each way. There is a mall closer called West End (stop S2), but it's not the nicest area of Atlanta. Anyway, checkout MARTA and see where you might want to go.

very late, but been slacking on reading the Atlanta forums....
Lenox mall is right on one of the train lines... well, you can get to it from either stop one stop north of Lindbergh (where the lines split between northeast and northwest) but the Lenox stop is much closer than the buckhead stop. Still walking distance but the Lenox stop is right across from the back of the mall.
