| Helsinki | sauna in Helsinki Posted: Sat December 8, 2007 11:49 PM UTC
Hi,
does anyone know if there is any sauna that will be opened on 24 Dec - 25 Dec? And whether people could pay for using the sauna inside the hotels even if they are not the guests of that hotel? |

Hello,
I just checked on the internet. The website is www.arlansauna.net, and it's a public sauna. Very tidy and no nonsense - a real sauna. It's open on December 24, on Christmas Eve between 12 to 18 (6 pm). The phone number is 09-719218; if you phone them from a landline phone while in Helsinki you can omit 09 in front of the number. Of course, from a mobile phone you have to use 09. Just enjoy the sauna experience -it will be great!! regards, Soili from the south of Finland

Thank you for the useful information. You know, I really want to try out the traditional Finnish Sauna in Helsinki! btw, is Sauna Arla located near to the city centre?

Hi,
near to the same subwaystation is also Kotiharjun Sauna (or "Harjutorin Sauna" as we call it here) which is the oldest traditional wood fired saunas in Helsinki is open as well (12-16). http://www.kotiharjunsauna.fi/ Family-run and shamelessly traditional, the wood-fired Kotiharjun sauna (one of very few left in central Helsinki) regularly wins sauna-of-the-month awards and was recently named Helsinki's best public sauna.
