Karen - do you have a Bank Debit/ ATM Card? That is the best way to exchange money abroad almost anywhere in the world and definitely in Spain and other counties in the Eurozone. Nationwide make no charges for cash withdrawals and give the official, not the tourist rate. Perhaps it is something you could
think about for the future. But I would be very wary about changing your money with a woman in the indoor market without knowing what rate she gives or what commission she charges.
You can look up the official exchange rate here

Hi we have been going to Benidorm for many years and we once got ripped off.Since then we have always used Sheilas located in the indoor marketdown the Rincon area just past the Pelicanos /Ocas.The rate shown is the rate you get. Also across the road from the market is another reputable exchange kiosk at the side of Jay Jays up the steps and there is a barbers shop at the side here again we have always received good honest money exchange.Beware of the glass fronted kiosks where they offer you very large exchange rates as they are rip offs and only when they have taken your money do you realise they are not paying what they advertise.Just take enough euros to cover your immediate needs when you get there ie safety deposit box is a must and then go to Sheila or Jay jays and I highly recommend them.By the way I have been reading that there is a lot of pick pocketing going on in Benidorm so always carry just enough for your needs and keep yopur wallet in a FRONT pocket and keep your hand on it also tell your wife not to carry her handbag on her shoulder with it behind her as these gypsy type women are proffesional pick pockets.Dont want to alarm you but my husband got pick pocketed on the airport on arrival at the carousel and I was walking along chatting to my sister in law in broad daylight when two gypsy type women attempted to rob me.All I am saying is just be vigilant as I do believe things have got worse for thieving since we started going.Do have a good holiday .

Hi!!
For sure youll get better rate in Benidorm than UK!! The eschange offices at the indoor market are ok, but i dont feel safe, too many people around!!
Normaly with the same rate you can find Eurochange with differents offices at Ricon de Loix area. You can check the rate daily... www.eurochange.es
