I know that this sounds bad, but I am an American football fan and will be in Cape Town during the conference playoffs of the NFL. The team I support looks like it will be in it, and I would like to watch the game. Does anyone know of a sports bar in the Western Cape (preferably Cape Town CBD) area that shows American football and would likely show the game?

You may find that asking in a few of the hostels may help. I don't know how well your going to make out with that one though. Good luck!

My husband has the same issue when we were in Cape Town last year for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, ESPN in South Africa covers very little American football and the games were usually on in the middle of the night. He was not able to watch any games while we were there- but he did catch some good rugby and cricket.

i'm moving to durban with my boyfriend next week and having the same problem...although the packers are out :( we're still gonna watch...have you found anywhere that's showing the game?
i guess we're just gonna try and make friends who have dstv with espn really quick...i'm sure they've gotta at least show the superbowl on there!!
