| Puerto Iguazú | 2 or 3 nights in puerto iguazu? Posted: Thu December 6, 2007 01:23 AM UTC
i am trying to book my tickets to go to iguazu on sunday, but not sure if i should plan on staying 2 nights (seeing the falls on sunday and monday and coming back to BA on tuesday) or 3 nights (coming back on wednesday)... what would you recommend for seeing the basics?

I would recommend staying 3 nights. Just take your time, the falls are amazing.
You easily could spend a whole day on the Argentinian side. Just stroll around in Puerto Iguazu on your first (Sun)day.

I would say give yourself a full day both brazilian and argentinian side. Foz do Iguacu otherwise hasnt got much to offer. A trip across to Paraguay to Cuidad del Este could be interesting just to do (bit of a chaotic border..if you can even call it that!) but not actually much to see so wouldnt worry too much about missing that.
I think if you are in a hurry you will be satisfied with 2 days but may regret 3.

9i would say minimum two full days.
one for the brazilian side and one for the argentinia. after that it's up to you to decide if you want to see any of the other sights the arera has to offer.

US citizens do need a Brazilian visa. We did this trip in 2006. It is well worth the $100 because the Brazilian side of the falls is quite different from the Argentine side.

no you do not need a visa- you can take a public bus to the brazilian side, which breezes right past immigration. did it yesterday.
very hard to know where the stop is for the falls though. in fact, i never found it.

Yes ,you will have to pay the 100 and 150 real.So to make it worth the while stay the whole day on the Brazilian side.Photo oppertunities are better on the Brazilian side.
