Garmisch-Partenkirchen Bavaria Trip
Posted: Wed December 5, 2007 08:16 AM UTC
During our trip to Bavaria, we are planning to stay some period at Garmisch=Partenkirchen. From 16 December to 19 December.
For more specific information look at my post here:
http://forum.virtualtourist.com/discussion-390687-1-1-Travel-0-0-Bavaria-discussion.html?s=2&p=0&l=0

Now, the most important thing to me, is to find some good place to stay at Garmisch-Partenkerchen. I am thinking about Zimmer or Gästehaus. Could you please recommend me some place that I and 2 of my friends will feel warm?
We need one double and one single beds. The place will be mainly used as a base camp, so it could be modest.

Best regards, Slava

Have a look here and contact the tourist information as soon as possible. In a way you're lucky, as it's too warm for snow right now, so less tourists, but don't wait too long.

in google type in tourismus+garmisch, it should be the second web site that appears. Then click on the bed in the left hand column (accommodation) and when the dates appear type in the dates you arrive and leave and where it says anzahl Betten (number of beds) type in 3, this will be for a 3 bedded room. Don,t worry about completing the other selections. Then click on Suche starten and the places with vacancies in your time period will appear, for the price per person click on preise in the individual links. The average seems to be euro 25 per person per night, there are places with vacancies but don,t wait until you get there.
Garmisch is quite expensive, have you worked out if it would be cheaper to use public transport rather than hire a car as the Bavaria ticket is cheap for trains and the buses from Garmisch to Neuschwanstein and to Linderhof are cheap too. I just think for 3 students hiring a car may be 1. impossible due to your ages, and 2. expensive. They are sure to charge a lot for insurance for younger drivers and fuel is expensive too.

I also contacted Garmisch tourist information and got some more places from them.

Do you know something about Gästhaus Maria-Anna?

You can "google" Gastehaus Maria-Anna for possible reviews. The web link for the hotel can be found at: http://www.gaestehaus-maria-anna.de. Gary

Thank you Gary,

I asked you only after I looked at Google.
The problem is that I found nothing, except of course, home page.

Hi - We stayed at Gastehaus Hamburg (Klarweinstraße 18) in May and it was really nice. Good location, nice hostess and beakfast, nice room with balcony. Loved GP. Enjoy!

Anything recommended by the tourist information usually is quite good, as they check the accomodation first. If you are not happy with it, you can go and complain to the tourist information as well.
