Prambanan	Extent of damage to Prambanan Temples Posted: Tue December 4, 2007 03:46 PM UTC 1) What is the extent of the damage caused to the Prambanan temples by the earthquake in May 2006? How many of the temples have fallen down/damaged? 2) Are we still allowed to go into the temples after the damage caused by the May 2006 eathquake or is the temple area cordoned off? 3) Is there a lot of reconstruction going on currently (Dec 2007) as I would prefer to see these temples without scaffolding and cranes in teh background? 4) Any opinions as to how long I should spend at these temples after taking into account their damaged conditions? I just did a google search and found these photos taken after the earthquake of May 27th- not really clear but thought you might like to have a look.

And this link mentions that no work had been started up till April this year.

and here is an interesting blog about a visit to Prambanan that shows some of the scaffolding.
and here is article saying the repairs will take at least 5 yrs

Hope this has been of some help for you. Sounds like you can still visit, but it will not be how you want it to look.
