| Göteborg | Christmas buffet and what to do? Posted: Mon December 3, 2007 06:39 PM UTC
Hi there, I will be in Goteborg for Christmas and New year. I wonder where I can have those traditional Swedish Christmas buffet? Anywhere you can recommend? Not so expensive please...
And is there any short trips (1 or 2 days) outside town I should go for a visit? Or just can you give me some suggestions in what to do during my two weeks in Goteborg? People have suggested me to go to Copenhagen as it is very close, is it so? Thanks very much for your suggestions. |

If you're still surfing whilst there, I can recommend a daytrip to the island of Marstrand (bus from the Nils Ericson bus station by the Central station) or to the wooden town of Kungälv with its huge fortress (which I don't know the opening hours of in winter but it's impressive from the outside too). You can also go to the archipelago. Either Hönö in the north (bus from that same bus station) or take the tram to Saltholmen and catch a boat from there.
Copenhagen is a bit less than 3 hours away on the train. Longer by bus.
