Hi we are going on the Scandinavia ferry to Gdansk. When we arrive is it far to go for shopping...we are not so young. Also is there something VERY special that we must not miss, and if possible can you give me the tram numbers. Are Taxis to be trusted? Maybe the most favourite place you like would be nice.

I think it would be the most convenient if you took a taxi. Perhaps the crew on the ferry could order it for you. The port is some way from the centre - there is a tram (no 15) but it goes only to Oliwa and you would have to change for the local train there (you would have to ask where to get off). Once you get on the train it should be simple, they are frequent and safe. The first thing I would choose to see in Gdansk is the Old Town (Stare Miasto), it really is lovely and not large. You can have a walk there and enjoy a nice meal. You will also find lots of souvenir and other shops there.

You do sail from Nynäshamn and you don't sail from Nynäsham for the town don't exist according to Google Maps http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.6975,35.3069& Regards Jesper
