hi dear vt members, was in cairo and luxor a couple years ago and want to visit egypt again but focusing on the nile valley only aswan to abu, aswan to edfu/and fly back to cairo from luxor
most of the boat itin seem to include luxor tours... should I just show up in aswan and try to find a boat that can take me to edfu or luxor without making me pay for luxor again? thanks! |

You can hire a boat without a tourguide. You will have to find your own way around Kom Ombo and Edfu, but a good guide book about Egypt will solve that problem easily.
You can do it by just going to Aswan and ask on any cruise ship on the Corniche if they still have cabins free or ask someone in Egypt to arrange your trip to your own itinerary. Good adress to do such a thing is my dear friend Mohamed Bahaa: m.bahaa2@usa.net bahaa94@hotmail.com Good luck, Dora.
