| Honolulu | Diamond Head > stop of TheBus? Posted: Thu November 29, 2007 09:08 PM UTC
Hello!
I wonder if there is a bus stop of TheBus (#22 or #58) at the Diamond Head State Monument. Neither map nor time table of www.thebus.org show all bus stops. Please, could you help me? Thanks in advance, Angie |

I don't remember seeing any buses when I went. If you're staying in Waikiki, even a taxi ride up to Diamond Head should not be too much, it's very, very close to Waikiki - within 3-4 minutes by car.

Honolulu is one of the cities on the pseudo-new Google Transit. That has very specific info on stops and route times.

Do you plan to rent a car at all while there as you can get a midsize for under $20 a day quite often as for the Bus I believe it would stop at the bottom leaving with a hike up to the park and back.

You have 2 buses going to Diamond Head, from Waikiki, and from Down Town
I do like the buses there, because , sometimes the traffic is bad for car You can purchase a weekly pass : it is good an cheap to visit the island and you can use it to go to the airport

The 22 and teh 58 go there. The stop is at KCC (Kapiolani Community College) and there is a sign there that says Diamond Head Park. It is a short 15 minute walk from the bus stop to the Diamond Head Parking lot. The buses run frequently.

The Kapiolani Park is nice, then you can walk to the zoo and the aquarium
if you want to stop and rest you have some choice near the beach: 1/ there is a Strabucks coffee in the corner 2/ I like the big hotel at the end of the beach, for the breakfast ...
