Hi there Irishman ;O)
Welcome to Finland again! It's a pity you haven't had time for Helsinki; hopefully some summer you would; there are so many things...But I know, the other cities & the lakes area (on summer) & Lapland (on winter) are more interesting. That's natural. Please see this link; it is the schedule of a bus driving between Helsinki-Vantaa airport and Helsinki city centre. It's very cheap, just 5,6 euros. It takes some 35 mins. You can take either the first one or the third one; in order to get to Vuorikatu (Arthur) you should go to the bus stopping at Elielinaukio. http://www.finnair.com/filecontent/com/citybus_com.txt Don't hesitate to ask me if you need further info or help; I'd be glad to assist. I live here - for me it's easy! I try to find you a walking map from Elielinaukio (where the bus leaves you) to Hotel Arthur. Anyhow, it's a short way to walk, you are lucky!

Hi it's me again,
Here's the "Eniro"-link for you to find your way to your hotel: http://kartat.eniro.fi/query?what=route. So sorry it's only in Finnish but it helps you. You have less than 1 km to walk. When you open the link, write to the above field the departure like this: Elielinaukio, Helsinki. To the next field (destination) write your hotel's address Vuorikatu 19. Click the button on the right ("Hae"; meaning search). You get a map of the area of the neighbourhood + the route marked in lilac/violet colour. Down right you see the points and streets and distances on your way. PLEASE NOTE that this is made for those with a car, so you can do this: You see the green starting point in Elielinaukio. Forget the huge round (first 6-7 points) and go directly towards the railway station (next to where the bus leaves you) keep going so that the railway station will be left on your back side (back left). Vuorikatu is almost on the corner. The red pinpoint shows your hotel location. This is really not a many minute's walk. Your hotel is in city centre. Hope it helps! P.S. I checked the bus schedules (airport-Helsinki); the schedule is the same for every weekday.

Hello,
The bus fare is indeed 3,60 euro. It's valid for 80 minutes, so don't throw the ticket away if you just leave the bag in your room at the hotel. Or better still, why don't you go to the R-KIOSKI at the airport and get yourself a traveller's bus card for one day? Remember the word SEUTULIPPU, as you are in anothertown when you come to Finland, ie in Vantaa. You need to pay 3,60 euro to get to Helsinki from there. The traveller's ticket is valid for one day when you first use it in the bus 615. Yes, I guess we Finns are ok with you Irish as both nations like the beer...:)) Welcome to Finland, you are a brave person to come here as the weather is far from good right now!!! The skies are very grey, and no snow anywhere here in the south. Temperatures are getting colder later this week, but not much to guarantee snow. regards from the old woman Soili in the south of Finland
