| Sint Maarten | Beach Question Posted: Wed November 28, 2007 06:31 PM UTC
We have booked our flights for a holiday in April and have narrowed down our accomodation choices to a few private beach villas. We have an infant and young son so we don't want to be on a beach with strong waves. Our choices are Simpson Bay, Nettle Beach; Guana Bay; or Dawn Beach. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

DO NOT go to Guana Bay then!!!!
The waves and undertow here can be quite aggresive. That being said it is lovely and quiet and generally for local surfers, but I would not trust a toddler in the water here. This is the only beach I have been to in the area where I actually thought I might drown. Granted I had been on a boogie board all day and most likely party-party the night before... I used to love to head to "Everythin's Cool Eh?" along the main strip in St. Martin. It is right on the beach and they make great frozen drinks. Some for the kids as well and good wings, burgers and fries. Have a Pain Killer they are fab. Full of booze but fab! Don't remember Nettle or Dawn and if you have a chance head over to the French side for a day. Very pretty.
